Temple Development

With the continuous requests from devotees for better facilities and the inablility to cope with the increasing number of Buddhist followers, the Temple Management Committee has initiated a master plan for the redevelopment. The master redevelopment plan, devised over a period of two years, combines styles of modern architecture with unique art of ancient Buddhism.

The new main shrine building will consist of two levels with the ground floor dedicated to the new reception centre and A-V Dharma hall. The first floor will be used as the Buddha Hall.  The main shrine will hold the statue of Shakyamuni, altars for Thousand Buddhas. There will be a Meditation Hall and a Multicultural Hall, which will be located beside the Main Shrine.  Per the plan, there are 40 meditation huts that are designed to provide excellent meditation environment. The Chinese garden will consist of an ancient style pavilion, rockery, lake, isle, bridge and a 1.7 kilometres of meditation track.  All of these will provide an excellent environment for spiritual cultivation.

The redevelopment will commence with the Chinese Garden, followed by the Main Shrine, Meditation Hall and Multicultural Hall.  Construction of the Chinese Garden has completed.  And with the continuous generous support from all the people in the community, the members and the community can enjoy the new facilities in 3 to 7 years.
